Child Safety Standards
TalentFesto has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page is our published standard: what we forbid, how you can report it, what we do when we find it, and who to contact. It applies to every part of TalentFesto, including videos, captions, comments, profiles, usernames and Hunt entries. This page describes TalentFesto version 2.0.0 and later, on iPhone and Android. Earlier versions of the Android app are covered by the policy that was published with them.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 112. To get help for a child in India you can also call Childline on 1098. To report child sexual abuse material online, use the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in.
1. What is forbidden
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including images, video, drawings and text that sexualise a child.
- Grooming: contacting a child to build trust for sexual or harmful purposes.
- Sextortion, trafficking, and any attempt to meet, buy, sell or exploit a child.
- Sharing, asking for or trading CSAM, or links to it.
- Sexualised comments about a child, or a profile, username or bio that sexualises a child.
- Sharing a child's private details to harass, locate or harm them.
2. How to report
- In the app: tap the menu on the post, comment or profile, choose Report, and pick "Child sexual abuse material" or "Minor safety concern". You can report without an account. The Report option is in the iPhone app; it is coming to the Android app.
- By email: write to the Child Safety Contact below, with a link to the post or the profile if you have one. Please do not attach or forward the material itself.
Reports about child safety go to the front of our review queue, ahead of every other kind of report.
3. What we do
- Review. A person reviews each report. We aim to review every report within 24 hours, and child-safety reports first.
- Remove and restrict. We remove the content, and can suspend or ban the account.
- Stop it coming back. A ban also blocks the phone number and the device from creating a new account.
- Report to the authorities. We report child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the relevant authorities as the law requires, including under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. We keep the content and account records needed for that purpose, even if the account is deleted.
- Appeals. A person who believes we made a mistake can appeal within 30 days. We do not restore content that sexualises a child.
4. How TalentFesto protects children
- Minimum age 13. We check a date of birth at sign-up. If it shows someone under 13, no account is created, and the phone number is blocked from trying again for a year.
- Teen accounts start private. Members aged 13 to 17 start with a private account, and with new posts set to the most private option.
- Hidden from signed-out visitors. People who are not signed in cannot see profiles or posts of members under 18.
- Official accounts keep away from teens. TalentFesto Team accounts do not send direct messages to members under 18 and do not feature their posts.
- Reporting and blocking are available on every post, comment and profile, and a member can block or restrict anyone.
